early childhood training
Entering Preschool & Kindergarten (ages 4-5) - Located in the LCC Kindergarten House, a 3-storey kindergarten facility with a separate playground.

At this stage, campers are developing their cognitive, social, emotional and physical abilities. Programs will be tailored to introducing a wide range of activities to meet the campers’ curiosity and expose them to new experiences. Their day will be balanced between physical, sensory and relaxing activities. This will include science experiments, arts & crafts, music, cooking, dance, cooperative game and lots of time playing outdoors.

middle childhood
Entering Grades 1-4
(ages 6-9)

At this stage, campers are developing new skills and honing their interests. They will work on week-long projects that allow for more depth in their learning such as building catapults and designing keychains using 3D printers. They will also participate in activities such as drama, yoga, dance, indoor and outdoor sports. Programs will be designed to encourage progression and team work, leaving campers feeling a sense of accomplishment at the end of each week. The age group will determine the complexity of the projects and skill development will be tailored accordingly.

At this stage, campers are developing their personal identity and building independence. Programs are designed to be more specialized so that campers can build more complex skills. This will include building rubber band powered cars, green screen video productions, cooking, indoor and outdoor sports.

At this stage, peer relationships and a sense of belonging become increasingly important. The program will touch upon three main areas of development: social, leadership and community. There will be a balance of physical activity, skill building programs, and counselor shadowing.

Entering Grade 10 (Age 15)

This program is tailored to young individuals who are curious about what it takes to work at Camp Lumi. The program consists of assisting with camp tasks such as camp-wide theme days, camper groups and activity specialists, and other camp related tasks. There is no fee for this program and there is no salary. Applicants must email info@camp-lumi.com to set up an interview.
